The Alumnus Who Came Back To Inspire the Juniors

He is the alumnus of SJKC Keh Seng (2011). He came back to his alma mater to conduct “Programme Speak Out”. The programme is to help boost confidence in pupils to use English as a mean of communication.

Introducing Alex Ngeyu Ee Xuan! Just 17 this year, a student in Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar, taking his A2 Levels, he has intentions to help the juniors as he empathizes with them at learning English. Let's see what he has to say about his move to come back.

"I feel that students from a predominantly Chinese background struggle to keep up with the international community due to their lack of ability to communicate in English. I felt that I should do something about it. So, I came back".

In his programme, he did many things with the pupils such as:
  • Singing
  • Role playing
  • Short drama
  • Story telling
  • Discussions
  • Charades
The programme went on for 2 weeks. He would come after school to have sessions with them for 2 hours every Thursday and Friday.

Like an elder brother to them

The pupils really enjoyed all the sessions with him. Even though some activities were done by teachers in school, there was a different aura to the pupils when being guided and inspired by someone not a teacher. Maybe they felt more like brothers and sisters learning from each other. Haha! Here, it shows the importance of the role of the community to help in enhancing the quality of education. Kudos to Alex for being able to do just that!

The pupils just love him very much~ ^^

After the programme, the school offered him some token of appreciation but he refused them! He said that he did all these willingly. The teachers were really touched! Such a humble person he is. So, we put the token he was suppose to receive as a donation to the school under his name.

Thank you once again, Alex! We will be glad to have you here again to weave magical moments into your juniors! Continue to be the inspiration to others!

"And I guess I just wanted to share this with more people", he said.
